Bend and Break (Lyrics) – Keane

In this video

Bend and Break” is a song performed and composed by English rock band Keane, released as the fifth and final single from their debut album Hopes and Fears

Meaning of the Song “Bend and Break”

I found this on a website, something Tim said;

“in bend and break that phrase is more about getting through a really
dark state of mind and emerging into brighter, happier times. the old
saying ‘the darkest hour is just before the dawn’ is very true and
potent i think. people often say that with proper depression, things
can seem unbearably awful as your thoughts run around each other in
the dark of the night but when the sun rises you can get more
perspective and see things in a more hopeful way.”

Bend and Break Lyrics

When you and you forget your name
When all the faces all look the same
Meet me in the morning when you wake up
Meet me in the morning then you'll wake up

If only I don't bend and break
I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the light
If only I don't suffocate
I'll meet you in the morning when you wait

Bitter and hardened heart
Oh
Aching
Waiting for life to start

Meet me in the morning when you wake up
Meet me in the morning then you'll wake up

If only I don't bend and break
I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the light
If only I don't suffocate
I'll meet you in the morning when you wait

If only I don't bend or break
I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the light
If only I don't suffocate
I'll meet you in the morning when you wait
I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the light
If only I don't suffocate
I'll meet you in the morning when you wait

“Bend and Break” is drummer Richard Hughes‘ favourite Keane song. This was also the last single that used the typeface “Cochin”, the one used in the Hopes and Fears era.
